I know it's been a while since I've posted much, but it's been a CRAZY month! I have done a few cakes amidst the madness however, I just didn't slow down enough to post until now. :-)
This first one was for a little boy who loves cruise ships, but not just any cruise ships, cool old ones! So this is my interpretation of his favorite the Queen Mary. I must admit, I liked it a lot better before the little red circles, but they requested blobs for candles. I thought rather than just random blobs, I tried to make them look like life preservers. So imagine it, if you will, with candles in the little red circles. :-)
I'm seriously thinking that theme lately has been pink! 4 out of my last 5 cakes have had pink in them! This one is a wedding cake I did last weekend. The base was a White Cake with Raspberry Cream Cheese Icing and the top was Chocolate Cake with the Raspberry Icing. Love that icing! Covered in black, pink and white fondant.
The last one here was for a little girl having a birthday party at the bowling alley (more pink). I got the call earlier that week and knew that I had a wedding cake due, so the mom said I could save time and use whatever flavors I was doing for the wedding cake. So I have another Chocolate with Raspberry Cream Cheese, with fondant cutout decorations.
The ship is just amazing ...and I love the smoke detail from the smoke stacks!!
