This is a cake that was done for a party with a "Sex in the City" theme. I made the shoe and the lime out of gum paste, and the Cosmopolitan drink was jello :) I used a real glass but put black fondant underneath and painted on it with the luster dust to make it pop a bit. I cut the city scape free-hand out of fondant too. I like how it turned out, but was bummed when I bumped the top edge and indented my buttercream :-( That's ok though, it was fun and practice makes perfect! Oh and the little pink flecks of color are luster dust that I did a kind of splatter painting effect with.
